How to Increase Your Accountability

Updated: Jun 11, 2022

Before increasing your accountability, let's know the exact meaning of it.

Over time, research and many successful people realized that the true and the most effective ingredient of their success is 'accountability.'

Yes, 'accountability' means your sense of 'responsibility.' Now a question arises of why to stress so much over it? The CEOs of big firms, great entrepreneurs, and content creators. Each of them has experienced and made mistakes during their startup.

Just like we do! But they still have managed to grow their businesses or whatever work they are into.

Though a big question arises, HOW?

How to Increase Accountability

A few of these things could also be kept in focus to increase accountability:

Recognising Your Mistakes

This is also the first step to accountability, where we can see and recognise mistakes. When we hold ourselves accountable for anything that happens in our lives, this way, we don't allow others to hold our power in their hands, and we get to do what we want.

Do Not Expect from Others

Even if we mess up with something, we fix it within our senses, keeping ourselves accountable.

When we start expecting certain actions and things from others, it could be their performance level, behaviour, etc.

We become slaves to what we expect them to be. Instead of what they are. Eventually, it leads to problematic situations and a lack of self-accountability.

Problem Solving

Maybe some of us are thinking, oh, but I didn't do that. It was not my mistake. But remember, the more we own the problem, the more we are in power to solve it.

And the more we play the blame game. We are not into fixing anything; instead, we may fall into an even worse problematic situation.

Just Do It

Don't just keep making scenarios and assuming everything in your head. It's really easy to stay in our comfort zone and play the blame game. But we have to rise and think out of the box to keep the standard.

Own the problem, fix it, and do what's meant to be!

In the end, I would like you to think about a random situation, where a person makes a mistake and instead of fixing it, he falls into a loop of blaming other people or situations and never actually tries to solve the problem properly.

But what if he looks into what's wrong from his side?

That way, the picture becomes very clear, and he learns about new ways and solutions to his problems, right?
