The second best time is TODAY

When is the best time to start living healthy? The question that people often ask themselves although they know that the answer is NOW. But why is it that people are inclined to "I will do it tomorrow", "I am too tired now", "I do not have time, and many other excuses not realizing that these excuses are slowly leading them to an unhealthy life of procrastination?

The end of the summer is right around the corner, and this is a time when I hear a lot of stories.

And when I say “stories” … I mean excuses.

Examples like... Reasons to pause because vacations are coming up, you know what I mean... Reasons not to start … because “things are too hectic in the summer to start a fitness program, I don't know where to start from” The funny thing about this kind of mentality is that it rolls with the seasons.

In my experience, there’s Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer … but Excuse Season is year-round.

The same people who told me there’s “not enough time to work out when the kids are home from school” … what do you suppose they’ll be telling me now? “There’s not enough time to work out when the kids are back in school.” So, which is it?

It’s neither.

There’s always the same amount of time. it’s just a question of how we use it.

Frankly, that's just one example of how good we human beings are in finding ideally shaped excuses, but there are many many more excuses, I am sure that you can come up with a couple of them as well :)

And if you’re always pausing things when an obstacle crosses your path, all you’re going to get good at is stopping. The pace of life is always going to ebb and flow. Our schedule is constantly evolving with the seasons.

Nonetheless, DO NOT fall into the trap of not having enough time.

That's why today I’d like to spend a little time talking about consistency.

Maybe the summer is a time of year when 3 workouts a week isn’t feasible, but 1-2 workouts a week, plus some outdoor activities or home workouts … that’s manageable. Maybe the winter is time only for indoor workouts and can find the time to do even 4 workouts.

So … do that!

Consistency doesn’t mean consistently doing it all. It means consistently doing something that will move you forward.

As final words for you my friend, I would like to tell you:

There is no perfect time. There is only today.

There is no better time or worse time. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.
