Why We All Need A Coach

Coach, mentor, teacher, trainer, instructor, and educator are words that save a person from ignorance and equip him with the right and valuable knowledge to have a worthwhile life.

We all do better with a coach.

Even coaches have their coaches and coaches and it is a never ending process.

As a matter of fact, I’m a coach … and I have a coach, too.

Several of them, actually.

You see, I’d like to think that I’ve always been a good coach. But not long after turning that passion for helping people into a business, I realized that … to put it bluntly …

I wasn’t very good at business. So I hired a business coach and he and his team have made it possible for me to do what I love and help more people. Next to that, I joined several groups with like-minded people where we all look for different solutions in our niche together.

Had I not sought that help and support, I would not be able to write this blog and publish it.

And that would not be good...

Because that would mean I would no longer be doing something I loved to do, that was helping a lot of other people and me, just because I was too stubborn to ask for help.

The same logic applies to any one of you.

Here are my top five reasons for having a coach whenever you want to level up your game:

Goal-Setting:

If you don't know your destination, reaching it will be tricky. Practical goal setting will allow you to visualize your goal in your mind and the required steps to make it happen.

The desired goal or objective is often called an "outcome." Classifying your goals as outcomes will help you distinguish between where you are now and where you want to be.

By setting outcomes, you typically achieve a change in your mindset, a mindset that is more focused on what you want to achieve.

We must also understand that these outcomes bring changes and consequences when considering our goals as outcomes. Therefore, we should answer several questions to help visualize our end goal and what it may feel like.

It's crucial to add facts and figures to these goals to get a detailed output, track progress, and evaluate results. Having a solid set of goals with numerical relevance helps to program plans, set realistic time frames, and allows your coach to provide the correct advice at the right times.

Accountability:

You'll be amazed at how your behaviour changes for the better when you have someone checking up on you and making sure you're sticking with your plan.

An accountable structure enhances productivity and sharpens time management skills with proven strategies.

A coach will help ensure that you're focusing on the right priorities at the right time and will aid you in cutting out distractions that can overwhelm you.

Hiring a coach delivers various immediate and long-term advantages for you. While the coach is not directly responsible for running your life, they help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to manage your life better and bring positive changes to your activities.

Reassurance:

Things will go wrong, and there will be bad days. Having someone to "pick you up" and keep you moving forward is critical.

Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. And the best thing is to have someone strong behind your back to encourage you in tough times.

Efficiency:

Who has time to waste standing around in the gym with no plan while waiting for the equipment they don't know how to use to become available? Or who has the time to wonder what to buy at the grocery store to be able to jump again in your old favourite jeans? Not you.

Not having a coach to navigate you towards your goals is a massive waste of time.

Results

Growth is predictable—it follows patterns in which areas grow first and fastest and requires more time. Understanding the uniquely human way of coaching, growth, and development helps people know how long to commit, what progress looks like, and when to expect results.

But, having a plan – and someone to help you execute it correctly and hold you accountable – will improve your results.

And my final words here are:

A good coach can help you reconnect with what you love about your life and your work.

We ALL do better with a coach.
